 Congrats, Alpha Psi, for placing 8th in the running for the Thurston Cup this year. This is a good improvement from last year's 10th place finish. Keep it up and we'll win it all next year.

OK, pledging is over and I'm behind on news updates. Welcome to all the new brothers!
First off, Brothers Loan Nguyen and Matt Veintimilla placed 2nd and 3rd, respectively, in the Patient Counselling Competition. woohoo!
Second, out Pledge Class 2008 won 1st place at the Rho Chi Talent Show. yay!
Third, Brothers Jacob Schnaidt and Amy Yon have announced their engagement. word!

| Leaders in Pharmacy |
Brother Koob Vang was officially sworn in as the 2008 President of the
Central Valley Society of Health System Pharmacists (CVSHP).
Ed Rogan was sworn in as the 2008 President of the San Joaquin
Pharmacists Association (SJPhA) by none other than brother Charlie Green!

| Rush #2 |
Phi Delta Chi's second rush event will be a BBQ at the frat house this friday 1/25 from 7pm to 9pm. Come out for some good food and good company.
Also, the deadline to sign up for rush is that same friday 1/25 @ 4pm. So if you are interested in a pharmacy fraternity, please sign up with Lupe at the Office of Student Affairs over at the new pharmacy building. Remember, you are not commiting to a pharmacy fraternity just yet, but just your INTENT to rush.

| Congrats Alumnus Todd Franklin |
|
Dear E-Brothers,
This evening as I "thumbed" through the recent issue of "The San
Joaquin" known as the "premier magazine of Central Valley Living" I
came across a full page recognition of our own Alpha Psi alumnus, Todd
Franklin on page 73 (I tried to find the article online without
success). Some of the accolades given to Todd include the following:
"Dr. Franklin was one of only 13 cosmetic dentists nationwide
recently awarded a gold medal at the International Smile Competition
for the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry".
Todd, our "hats off" to you for this recognition.

| A Message from Brother Loan |
Hi bros!
I personally have great news that I would like to share with my brothers...
Back
in Systems I, my research group and I did a research project, and we
thought it was a topic worth publishing. Well, after the hard work of
6 second year ladies (1 Phi Delt, 1 RPP, 2 KY lil sis, 2 unaffiliated)
and faculty that helped us, our abstract, Public Perceptions of Pharmacists' Expertise in Comparison to Physicians, has been approved by the APhA board!!!!!
We will be presenting our poster at the APhA Annual Meeting in San Diego in March!!
Our abstract will also be published in the March/April 2008 issue of the Journal of the American Pharmacist Association (JAPhA)!!!
I am so excited!! I hope many brothers will attend APhA in San Diego and come support me!! I would appreciate that.
